Slope Instability Analysis in Permafrost Regions by Shear Strength Parameters and Numerical Simulation

With the onset of global warming, environment has profoundly changed. The melting ice and slope instability were widely observed in permafrost regions Qinghai–Tibet Plateau, which destroyed infrastructure threatened people’s safety. For this study, we conducted a direct shear test, monitored field temperature, performed numerical simulation to explore mechanism Qinghai. results show that strength soil decreased with increases water content thawing condition. Moreover, depth slopes increased rising temperature. From temperature monitoring data observations, cracks phenomena Qinghai occurred soil. safety gradient, pore pressure decreases parameters.
